directed
ted to refer to Mr. Read's letter of the
17th May last (13556/1912) on the subject of the recruitment of a Second Mistress for Kowloon British School, Hong Kong,
and to state that the Board have decided to recommend Miss
Petricia Young Anderson for appointment. The Selection
Committee which interviewed candidates on behalf of the
Board was assisted by Mrs Tutcher who concurs in this recom-
mendation.
Papers containing particulars of Miss Anderson's
qualifications and experience are attached, together with a
copy of the announcement which was issued in connexion with the
vacancy.
I am to add that the Board of Education have care-
fully considered the question of the salary which should be
offered to Miss Anderson and in view of the cost of living in
Hong Kong they recommend that if she is appointed, she should
be paid a salary of £200 per annum rising by annual increments
of £10 to £220 per annum. In this connexion I am to invite
attention to the Board's letter of the 6th February, 1911, on
the subject of the recruitment of an Assistant Mistress for
the Belilios School, Hong Kong.
